Road near L'Estaque

This is Road near L'Estaque, painted by Braque in the late summer of nineteen oh eight, where Cézanne had worked before him. He compresses the landscape into faceted green and ochre blocks. The pictures from this summer gave Cubism its name, after a critic complained they were made of little cubes.
