Before you is Landscape by Jean Metzinger, painted around nineteen twelve to nineteen fourteen. Metzinger co-wrote Du Cubisme with Albert Gleizes in nineteen twelve — the first sustained theoretical defence of the movement, published while Picasso and Braque themselves said almost nothing about it in print.
