This is Table Piece 88, subtitled The Deluge, welded by Anthony Caro around nineteen sixty-nine in painted steel. His table pieces run over the edge of whatever they stand on, deliberately, so they cannot be mistaken for objects sitting on a surface — they have to be given a table with a drop.
