Before you is Objects from a Dyer's Shop, painted by Liubov Popova in nineteen fourteen. Popova studied in Paris and brought Cubist structure back to Moscow, where it fed straight into the Russian avant-garde. Within a few years she would give up easel painting altogether for textile and stage design.
