The Last Supper

Before you is The Last Supper — a painting by Andy Warhol, nineteen eighty-six. Silkscreen: ink pushed through a stencilled mesh, one screen per colour, which is why the colour lies so flat. It is one of the largest things in this museum — about 72 times the area of a typical work here. You can pick out the lettering. Warhol was part of the pop art movement.
