Here we have The Kitchen — a painting by the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, from Paris, November nineteen forty-eight. Oil on canvas — pigment ground into a slow-drying oil, which is what lets a painter go back into wet paint for days. In the picture, look for the abstract shapes. Picasso was part of the cubism movement.
