Before you is My Grandparents, My Parents, and I — a painting by the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, nineteen thirty-six. Tempera: pigment bound in egg, which dries within minutes and cannot be blended once down. Kahlo was married to Diego Rivera — who also hangs in this museum.
