This is Looking for Langston, Isaac Julien's film of nineteen eighty-nine — black and white, shot on sixteen millimetre. It is a meditation on Langston Hughes and Black queer life in the Harlem Renaissance, made in Britain at the height of the AIDS crisis and of the fight over Section 28.
