Head of a Woman

Before you is Head of a Woman, a painted wood construction made by Henri Laurens in nineteen fifteen. Laurens brought Cubist analysis into sculpture, cutting the head into planes that read differently as you move around them. Much of his work of these years was painted, to keep colour in play.
