The Storm Tree

This is The Storm Tree, a platinum print made by Anne Brigman in nineteen eleven. Brigman photographed in the High Sierra, often placing a nude figure in the crook of a wind-wrecked tree, and printed on platinum for its long soft greys. She was one of very few women in Stieglitz's Photo-Secession.
