Prototype for Chaise Longue (La Chaise)

This is the prototype for La Chaise, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in nineteen forty-eight in hard rubber foam, plastic, wood and metal. It was entered for a competition in low-cost furniture and turned out to be impossible to manufacture cheaply. It went into production seventeen years after they designed it.
