This is Our Father / which art / in heaven (Vaterunser / Der Du bist / im Himmel) from The Lord's Prayer (Das Vater Unser) — a print by the German artist Max Pechstein, nineteen twenty-one. A woodcut — cut into the plank so that everything left standing prints. It is the oldest printing method in this building. Somewhere in there: the carved figure, and the lettering.
