This is Column Cover for the German Pavilion, International Exposition, Barcelona, Spain — an architectural work by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, nineteen twenty-eight to nineteen twenty-nine. The piece is chrome-plated steel, about 3 by 0.2 meters. It is an odd shape for a picture: about 3.0 metres one way and 0.2 the other, so it reads as a band rather than a window. You can pick out the door.
