This is Beginning to Loom Larger and Larger on the Horizon, drawn by Romare Bearden in the late nineteen thirtyies in crayon, gouache, ink and coloured pencil. It comes from his earliest years as an artist, when he was working as a caseworker for the New York Department of Social Services and drawing cartoons on the side.
